When I first read it in high school in used copies of Heavy Metal, it changed my life, both in terms of the way I think about comics and life as well. 

   Manara has some awesome colour and ink wash work out there, but this black and white pen work is where I think his world view really makes the most impact. The strangeness of this comic will reach out and haunt you. You won't be able to forget it.

   It has a sense of quietness and oddness that propels its erotic core into something of intense meaning and significance.

   The elements of absurdity, eroticism, psychedelia, and social commentary all blend together with an entertaining plot and extremely beautiful art to produce something that is very human, very intimate, and at the same time very "transcendental."

   It has been out of print for a long time, but hopefully the new Milo Manara Library instalments will feature it at some point.
